Steffen Lindner leads the Synthetic Metabolism Group at the Institute of Biochemistry at Charité in Berlin where he focuses on engineering microbial metabolism for sustainable bioproduction.
The group designs synthetic C1 utilization pathways and develops growth-coupled bioproduction systems that directly link cell growth to product formation. Their core technology is based on metabolic rewired selection strains which enable the creation of carbon-neutral and scalable biomanufacturing platforms.
